How to read a MyKade product page

Your price, the suggested selling price and your profit, explained simply, plus what to check before you share any product.

🛍️ Choosing products · 3 min read

Every product in the MyKade app has its own page. It is the most important screen you will use, because it tells you what the product costs you, what you can sell it for and what you will earn. Here is how to read it, step by step.

The three numbers

Each product shows three key figures.

  1. Your price. This is what the product costs you as a seller. You do not pay this upfront. MyKade handles the product, packing and delivery.
  2. Suggested selling price. This is the price MyKade suggests you sell at. It is a good starting point for beginners.
  3. Your profit. This is what you earn on the order at the price you choose.

You choose your own selling price. There is a maximum, so customers are never overcharged. You can sell at the suggested price, or a little lower if you want to be more competitive. Whatever price you set, check the profit the app shows for it.

A worked example

These numbers are only an example.

  • Your price: Rs 1,400
  • Suggested selling price: Rs 1,950
  • Your profit at that price is shown on the page

If you sell at Rs 1,950, the customer pays Rs 1,950 plus delivery. Delivery is usually around Rs 450 and is paid by the customer. So the customer pays about Rs 2,400 at the door.

Always tell the customer that full total before you place the order.

When your profit reaches you

Your profit goes into your wallet when the parcel is delivered. If a parcel comes back, that order earns nothing. When your wallet has at least Rs 1,000, you can withdraw to the bank account you verified during your identity check.

This is why the profit number on the product page is "possible" profit. It becomes real only when the customer accepts the parcel. Read how your profit reaches your bank account for the full picture.

Photos, videos and captions

The product page also gives you material to share:

  • Photos and videos of the product
  • Ready-made captions in Sinhala, Tamil and English
  • AI caption writing, if you want a caption in your own style

Use these as your starting point. A short personal line, like "I'd use this in my own kitchen", makes a ready-made caption feel like yours. Never add claims the product page doesn't support.

What to check before you share

Before you share any product, take two minutes to read the page properly.

  1. Read the full description. Know the size, the material, the colour options and what is in the box.
  2. Look at every photo. Make sure you could describe the product to someone on the phone.
  3. Think of three questions a customer might ask, and find the answers on the page. If you can't, ask MyKade support before you sell.
  4. Check the total. Is your selling price plus delivery a fair amount for this product?
  5. Ask yourself honestly: would I buy this at this price?

Mistakes to avoid

  • Setting the price without looking at the profit. A small change in price changes your profit, so always check.
  • Quoting the price without delivery. A customer who expected Rs 1,950 and is asked for Rs 2,400 may refuse the parcel.
  • Promising what the page doesn't say. If the page doesn't say "waterproof", don't say it.
  • Copying a caption that mentions a size or colour you haven't checked.

Pricing tips for beginners

  • Start at the suggested selling price. It is a sensible place to begin.
  • If many people ask but nobody orders, try explaining the total more clearly before you lower the price.
  • Keep the same price for everyone. Customers talk to each other.
