Nobody is born knowing how to sell online. Most people learn by trial and error, and the errors cost time and returned parcels. MyKade Academy is there to shorten that. It lives inside the MyKade app, so you learn in the same place you sell.
What's in the Academy
There are four parts:
- 9 short lessons you can read in a few minutes each, on a bus or during a tea break.
- A "first 10 customers" mission that ticks itself off as you go.
- An earnings planner that turns a monthly goal into orders and messages per day.
- An AI selling coach that answers your questions in your own language: Sinhala, Tamil or English.
The lessons: little and often
Short lessons work best when you use them straight away. A good habit:
- Read one lesson.
- Do one thing from it the same day: post a product, rewrite a caption, call a customer to confirm.
- Come back tomorrow for the next.
Nine lessons over nine days, each followed by one small action, will teach you more than reading everything in one night and doing nothing.
The first 10 customers mission
Your first ten customers are the hardest and the most important. They prove to you that this works, and they are the people most likely to buy again and tell their friends. The mission ticks itself off as you make progress, so you don't have to keep a list. When you're stuck, read your first 10 customers for ideas on where to find them.
The earnings planner: from a wish to a plan
"I want to earn some extra money" is a wish. "I need to send this many messages a day" is a plan. The earnings planner does that translation for you: you set a monthly goal, and it shows the orders and messages per day that goal needs.
To see why that matters, here is a rough example done by hand. Imagine your profit is about Rs 450 an order and you'd like Rs 9,000 in a month. That's 20 delivered orders. When selling to strangers, our data from about 5,000 orders shows 30–37% of parcels came back, so you might need around 30 orders placed. About half of enquiries became orders, so that's around 60 conversations: two a day. Suddenly the goal looks like a daily routine rather than a mountain. (This is only an example, not a promise; your numbers will be your own.)
The example also shows something useful: the fewer returns you have, the less work each rupee takes. That's why confirming every order matters so much.
The AI coach: ask anything, in your language
The AI selling coach is like having a patient friend who knows about selling, available at 10 pm when you're answering messages. Some good questions to ask:
- "A customer says the price is too high. How should I reply?"
- "Write a short WhatsApp Status caption in Sinhala for this kitchen product."
- "How do I remind a customer politely that the courier will call tomorrow?"
- "Which products should I share this week before school starts?"
A few sensible habits when using any AI:
- Read before you send. Check that every detail matches the product page: size, colour, price.
- Make it sound like you. Change a word or two so it's in your own voice.
- Don't share private details you don't need to, such as a customer's full address, when asking for advice.
- Never let it promise things the product can't do.
Learning is part of selling
The sellers who keep going are usually the ones who keep learning. A lesson a day, a mission to aim for, a plan that fits your time, and a coach to ask when you're unsure: that's a good way to build skill without wasting months.
