Selling on your own can feel lonely. You post, you wait, you answer messages late at night, and nobody sees the effort. The MyKade Premier League turns that into something Sri Lankans already love: a cricket match, with your district on the scoreboard.
How the league works
The idea is simple:
- You join your district's team in the app.
- Every delivered order you make scores runs for your team.
- Districts play each other every week.
- The winners earn trophies.
That's it. There is nothing to buy and nothing extra to do beyond selling the way you already do. Your normal orders, once delivered, become your contribution to the team.
Why "delivered" matters so much
Notice that runs come from delivered orders, not from orders placed. A parcel that comes back scores nothing, just as it earns you no profit. This is good news, because it means the league rewards exactly the habits that make you money:
- Confirming the order with a quick call before you place it.
- Telling the customer the full total, including delivery (usually around Rs 450), so there are no surprises at the door.
- Making sure the customer knows the parcel is coming and will answer the courier.
In real Sri Lankan online shops, 42% of returned parcels came back because the customer didn't answer the courier. Every one of those is a run your team didn't score. If you want a refresher, read why parcels come back, and how to stop it.
Playing your part in a weekly match
Because matches are weekly, the rhythm of your week matters. A few practical ideas:
- Plan your posting around the busy times. Our data from about 5,000 orders shows enquiries peak between 7 and 11 pm, with the busiest hour at 9 pm. Sunday brings about 50% more enquiries than other days.
- Reply fast. About half of enquiries became orders, and 3 in 4 of those ordered within a day. Almost nobody ordered after 3 days. A slow reply is a dropped catch.
- Look after your regulars. When customers know the seller and reorder, about 96% of parcels were delivered. Your repeat customers are your most reliable batsmen.
- Don't chase runs with risky orders. Pushing an order through without confirming might look like a quick single, but if it comes back it costs you, and it can affect your seller level.
Selling for your district
There is something special about selling close to home. You know the towns, the festivals, the school calendar and what people actually need. Use that. Share products that suit your area, post in your local language, and talk to people you can genuinely help.
Being on a district team also means there are other sellers near you working towards the same goal. Cheer each other on. Share what worked this week. A tip that helps a teammate deliver one more parcel is a run for everyone.
Keep it fair and friendly
A league is only fun when everyone plays honestly. Please don't:
- Place fake or unconfirmed orders to boost the score. They won't be delivered, so they won't count, and they will hurt your returns.
- Spam groups or strangers to hit a weekly number.
- Make promises about a product that aren't true.
Win the honest way: good products, clear prices, quick replies and confirmed orders.
Join your team
The league is a way to make your everyday selling feel like part of something bigger, with your district's name on the line. If you're not selling yet, download the MyKade app, join your district's team and help them score their first runs this week.
